Words like United Nations, World Peace, Global or Spiritual in the name, with no law that created the university.

The university or your programme is missing from the UGC-DEB entitled list for your session.

Fees are asked in a personal account or through an unknown link instead of the university's official account.

Promises of a guaranteed job, instant degree or a much shorter course duration.

Admission is possible only through a study-centre agent, never on the university's own official website.

A name that is almost the same as a real university. Match the exact spelling on the official list.

Are degrees from these universities valid?

No. Only universities established or recognised under the UGC Act, 1956 can award valid degrees. Degrees from listed institutions are not accepted for jobs or higher studies.
