๐ฌ Continue on WhatsAppThis is an indicative estimate based on general rules of thumb, not a loan approval or offer. Each bank or NBFC decides on its own criteria, and the final decision depends on your documents and credit report. UniversityJano is an admission counselling platform, not a lender.
How This Checker Works
We take the repaying person's monthly income and subtract existing EMIs from a comfortable share of that income. That share is higher for a stronger credit score band and lower for a weaker one. We then work out the loan size that EMI can support over your chosen period, and compare it with the loan you need. You can choose a repayment period of 1 to 5 years, and either a standard interest rate or a 0% (no-cost) EMI plan. We do not ask for PAN, Aadhaar or any ID, and we do not pull your credit report.
Before You Take an Education Loan for an Online Degree
- Confirm the university and the exact programme are approved on the UGC-DEB portal. Use our UGC-DEB approval checker, because some lenders fund only approved programmes.
- Ask the lender whether it finances online degrees, and whether it pays the university in instalments or in one go.
- Compare the interest rate, processing fee, and any pre-payment charges, not just the EMI.
- Plan the total cost with our EMI calculator and read our education loan guide for online degrees.
- Read the UGC refund policy guide so you know what happens to the fee if you withdraw.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the same as a bank approval?
No. It is an indicative estimate only. Banks and NBFCs apply their own policies and check your documents and credit report before approving.
Do you need my PAN or Aadhaar?
No. This checker never asks for PAN, Aadhaar or any ID, and it does not access your credit report.
Can I get an education loan for an online degree in India?
Many lenders finance approved online programmes, but policies differ by lender, university and programme. Confirm with the lender before you pay any fee.
Do any lenders offer 0% interest on education loans?
Some lenders and fintech companies offer 0% (no-cost) EMI plans on selected university programmes, often for shorter periods and sometimes with a processing fee. Availability depends on the university, programme and lender, so confirm it before you pay.
What credit score is good for an education loan?
Higher scores generally improve your chances and terms. Lenders set their own cut-offs, so a lower score does not always mean rejection, but it can make approval harder.
What if my result says approval is difficult?
Try a smaller loan, a longer repayment period, adding a co-applicant with stable income, clearing existing EMIs, or offering collateral. A counsellor can help you compare options.
